The Biggest Heart Award
At the end of this school year, Eliza's Third Grade teacher, Mrs. Kelly, gave an award to each child in her class. She explained that she spent time thinking about each child before choosing what to write on their certificate. Eliza was honored with The Biggest Heart Award. The next day I talked to Mrs. Kelly at the class picnic. She told me that Eliza was awarded The Biggest Heart Award because she never said an unkind thing the entire school year. She said that Eliza is a very sweet girl who is kind to everyone and so she chose her for The Biggest Heart Award.
I told Eliza that there is nothing I would rather hear! I am proud of her for doing well in school and earning the Super Kid award from the principal. I want her to be a good student. However, I care a lot more that she is kind to others and trying to live her life as a disciple of Jesus Christ.
A couple of weeks ago, Eliza's Activity Day leader, Sister Peebles, told me that Eliza thanks her at the end of each activity, every time. I am so glad Eliza remembers to be grateful! She's a good kiddo!

Firefighter Levi
Our neighbor's HVAC system started smoking up their house this morning. :( There was a lot of excitement on the cul-de-sac this morning. A fire truck and police car greeted us on our walk to the bus stop. Levi loved watching the firefighters work from the front porch. When they were finishing up, one kind firefighter noticed Levi watching him. He invited him over to climb into the truck. So sweet of him. Then he kindly invited us to come by the fire station anytime and ring the bell for a tour! Soon two more firefighters exited the house and warmly greeted Levi and the boss smiled and invited Levi to come by the station for a tour. Levi was a lucky boy this morning! So sorry for the neighbors, but thankfully it looks like they will be fine, at least once they get the a/c fixed! Its getting hot.
