Independance Day Family Home Evening

Since Independence Day is this week, we decided to have a Patriotic History themed Family Home Evening. David tried to teach the girl's about evil, oppressive, tyrannical, King George III. To illustrate the events of the American Revolution we had a little dramatization....

David as the tyrant, King George the Third
King George is demanding taxes from the hard working American Patriots.
The Freemen get fed up and charge King George on a horse. The Freemen take down King George III with a sword. You're done, Tyrant! The Freemen declare their independence and celebrate by eating a flag cake! This dramatization is fictional, based loosely on actual events.

Hopefully, we'll do a better job with historical accuracy next year. David also showed the girls a couple of scenes from the John Adams HBO Mini Series. They were sure were pleased that the good soldiers won and now we are free! USA, USA, USA!!!
