Wyatt's Birthday

Last Saturday was my nephew, Wyatt's, fifth birthday party at Chuck E Cheese. The kids had such a great time. Eliza loved the rides and the climbing tunnel and slide.

Sadie loved playing games that spit out tickets. David said she just loved to pull the tickets out and then feed them to the ticket cashing in machine thing. For her prize, Sadie picked out a little bag of Pirate MoneyTo my amazement, I ran into one of best friends from high school at Chuck E Cheese. Here's Piper. My sister and her family live in our home town so thats where the party was. Piper lives in Tennessee now. She was visiting for the weekend and decided to bring her niece to Chuck E Cheese. What are the chances that both of us, who live out of town, would be at Chuck E Cheese at the same time? I had a great time catching up with my old friend! We used to run around so much and have so much fun together when we were young. It was an amazing treat to see her again.

Here we are at age 18 with Piper's boyfriend, Chopper, at my boyfriend, Kelly's, missionary farewell party. Chopper and I were the only Latter-Day Saints in our class at school so we were pretty close friends. The four of us (Chopper, Piper, Kelly, and I) had a lot of fun together. My sister, Molly, decided to have birthday cake at home instead of at Chuck E Cheese so that we'd have a way to encourage the kids to leave. Here is Wyatt's awesome Harry Potter cake.
Molly is a dog groomer by profession, and apparently a very good one, so naturally, I asked her to trim Eliza's bangs for me. Actually, since becoming a dog groomer, so many friends have asked her for hair cuts that she went ahead and bought a pair of human hair cutting scissors. Baby Elliot is so cute. The kids had fun blowing bubbles and playing in the backyard. What's a birthday party without a serious game of Mario Cart on the Wii?Happy Birthday, Wyatt. We love you!

Wyatt's house is so fun.

Yesterday the girls and I went to Aunt Molly's house to watch Wyatt and Elliot. I was gone to the bathroom for just a few minutes. When I came out I saw Sadie (19 months) and Elliot (9 months) on the floor. Sadie looks up at me and says, "I feed baby Ewiot." Elliot was crawling around and Sadie would crawl around after him. When he stopped, she'd sit down and put the bottle in his mouth. He would chew on the nipple for a few seconds and then crawl off. Sadie was very proud of herself for taking care of her cousin.

Just before we left, Uncle Jeff was chasing the girls with a stuffed alligator. They loved it and I had a hard time getting them to leave. I loaded them into their car seats and then I sat down in my seat. Before we even pulled out of the parking spot, Eliza says, "Wyatt's house is so fun... Jeff is so fun!!"
Then this morning Eliza tells me again, "Wyatt's house is fun. Jeff is sooo fun." I repeated, "Uncle Jeff is so fun?" She confirmed, "Yes! Uncle Jeff is so fun!"

And then there was four...

I also wanted to mention our little Sadie too. I wondered often about whether or not we would ever have more kids. I hoped very much that Eliza wouldn't be an only child. Well, I didn't have to wonder long... When Eliza was six months old I found out that I was 6.5 weeks pregnant. When Eliza was 14 months old, our little Sadie was born. They adore each other. I am so happy these sisters have one another and David and I are delighted we have both of them!

I didn't particularly enjoy being sick but I am glad I had the chance to experience carrying a baby. The ultrasounds and feeling the baby move was fun. I had an amazing epidural and I didn't feel anything. So, post-epidural I really enjoyed having the baby. It was easy for me to push her out, I didn't even break a sweat, literally. I actually look forward to giving birth again, but I am not as anxious to feel 24 hour sickness.

The top photo is Newborn Sadie. The bottom photo is my sister, Molly's, son, Wyatt. Don't these cousins look similar as newborns?!
